(13 August 1879, Bowdon, Cheshire, England – 12 June 1962, Rock Mill, Washington, Sussex)
   Organist, choirmaster of St. Luke’s, Chelsea (1904–1926) and teacher of composition at the Royal College of Music (1923–1939), he is known for settings of the Anglican service and for his anthem, Greater Love {}Hath No Man, (1912, orchestrated 1922). (at)
